Tomorrow Anthony Joshua will defend his IBF heavyweight title for the first time against the 6ft 7, undefeated Dominic Breazeale at the O2 Arena in London. Joshua defeated Charles Martin back in February to claim his first world title and ultimately set himself on the path to potential heavyweight boxing domination. Breazeale steps into the bout with an unblemished record of 17 wins with 15 of those coming by way of knockout. Both men will go head to head this Saturday as the main event, putting their undefeated streaks on the line for that golden belt.
Last month the two met face to face in a heated exchange of words that caught a lot of us off guard but very much added to the excitement and anticipation for this box office fight. A routine photo shoot quickly turns to trash talk as Joshua hands over his title belt to then locks eyes with his heavyweight counterpart.
On Tuesday, an open workout was held to a packed out York Hall in Bethnal Green. George Groves, Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr, to name a few, all took to the ring for some quick shadow-boxing and light pad work with a trainer, in preparation for Saturday night. But there were only two people the crowd really came to see. Joshua sporting all white Under Armour apparel took to the ring as the crowd watched on, locking on to every step and jab. Breazeale entered the ring showing off his big size and swift movements with hard hitting hooks and uppercuts.
This is definitely a must watch fight. The nations favourite and current IBF champion, Anthony Joshua going up against the unknown powerhouse, Dominic Breazeale to defend his title in this main event fight on June 25th, available on Sky Sports Box Office from 7pm.
(Other fight include Dillian Whyte v Ivica Bacurin, Conor Benn v Lukas Radic, Chris Eubank JR v Tom Dora and George Groves v Martin Murray.)
